RPP MP Singh slams govt for prioritizing republic over development
MP Singh stated that both ruling and opposition lawmakers had already expressed various views on the policy document.

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Deepak Bahadur Singh has criticized the government’s annual policy and program for prioritizing the protection of the republican system over national development.
Speaking during the House of Representatives session on Sunday, MP Singh stated that both ruling and opposition lawmakers had already expressed various views on the policy document.
He remarked that the government appears more focused on spending large sums of money to protect the political system rather than investing in developmental projects that would benefit the country.
Singh expressed his disappointment that issues requiring strong opposition were being addressed in a defensive manner.
He emphasized the need for the government to allocate proper budgetary support for youth entering security forces and athletes, including provisions for their salaries and benefits to ensure a sustainable livelihood.
He further stressed the importance of reopening closed factories to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign employment.
Singh argued that reviving domestic industries is a pressing need and urged the government to prioritize this in its development agenda.
