KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula has asserted that the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year is more realistic, objective, and implementable compared to previous years.

Speaking during Sunday’s session of the House of Representatives as part of the ongoing discussions on the government’s policy and program, Bartaula emphasized that this year’s plan is neither vague nor legally weak and is backed by adequate resources—unlike those of past years.

He stated that the policy and program was formulated based on mutual understanding between the ruling parties, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, and expressed confidence that it would address existing challenges while ensuring policy stability.

Bartaula further argued that the program is not just filled with attractive rhetoric but is instead grounded in the country’s reality and limitations.

According to him, the policy will pave the way for long-term planning, bring about policy consistency, and institutionalize the current political cooperation.

He also criticized the opposition parties for what he described as unconstructive criticism, alleging that their objections were made for the sake of opposition rather than based on substance.
