Five killed in chopper crash in Uttarakhand, two injured

KATHMANDU: At least five people were killed and two others injured when a private helicopter crashed in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand on Thursday.

The helicopter was en route to Gangotri, the source of the Ganges River, when the incident occurred.

According to police, the deceased were tourists.

The injured have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Expressing condolences over the loss of lives, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.
