IPL match called off due to floodlight failure amid security concerns
Play was halted after 10.1 overs, with only one of the floodlights functioning due to a power supply failure.

KATHMANDU: The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Dharamshala was called off due to technical issues with the stadium’s floodlights, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed.
Play was halted after 10.1 overs, with only one of the floodlights functioning due to a power supply failure.
Despite efforts to resolve the issue, the lighting problem persisted, forcing officials to abandon the match.
However, IPL officials informed international media that the game was also called off as a precautionary measure in light of ongoing attacks in the Jammu region, allegedly by Pakistan.
Security concerns reportedly influenced the final decision.
Before the match was stopped, Punjab Kings had made an impressive start, scoring 122 runs for the loss of one wicket in 10.1 overs.
Openers Prabhsimran Singh and debutant Priyansh Arya gave the team strong momentum.
With the match called off, both teams were awarded one point each.
Punjab Kings, currently in third place, now have 15 points from 11 matches, while Delhi Capitals sit in fifth place with 13 points from the same number of games.
