QR code cash withdrawals now at Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank
With this milestone, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank becomes the first development bank in Nepal to introduce such a service.

KATHMANDU: Continuing its commitment to providing cutting-edge, secure, and user-friendly digital banking services, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has launched an innovative Interbank Scan2Cash service in collaboration with Fonepay.
With this milestone, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank becomes the first development bank in Nepal to introduce such a service.
Under this new feature, customers can easily withdraw cash at teller counters by scanning a QR code using the mobile banking application of any bank.
Initially rolled out at the bank’s Durbar Marg and Thapathali branches, the service is planned to be expanded nationwide in the near future.
The bank believes this service will significantly reduce dependency on traditional methods of cash withdrawal such as cheques or ATM cards.
Strengthening its dedication to digital innovation, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has also previously launched cross-border QR payment services via the Alipay+ network in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited.
This enables tourists from countries like China, Singapore, and South Korea to conveniently make payments in Nepal by scanning NepalPay QR codes using their home country’s digital wallets.
