UML Whip Baral urges focus on jobs, governance, and safer foreign employment
She cautioned that while the policies and programs appear well-structured on paper, challenges often arise during the transition to planning and budgeting, causing delays and confusion.

KATHMANDU: Sunita Baral, Whip of the CPN-UML, stated that the government’s newly introduced policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year emphasize social transformation, increased production, and employment generation.
Speaking during the House of Representatives’ discussion on the policies and programs on Thursday, Baral said the plans not only aim to strengthen federalism with good governance but also address the implementation of the constitution by prioritizing the passage of specific bills in the current session.
She cautioned that while the policies and programs appear well-structured on paper, challenges often arise during the transition to planning and budgeting, causing delays and confusion.
Baral claimed that the policies reflect a balanced, self-reliant, and dignified approach, addressing both foreign and domestic issues in a thoughtful manner.
She also raised concerns about the need to revisit some labor agreements, pointing out that the lack of minimum wages and insurance coverage in certain countries puts Nepali workers at risk.
Emphasizing the need for improved foreign relations, she urged the government to design specialized programs that integrate economic and diplomatic priorities more effectively.
