Corruption is a national disease, not just a political blame game: Gaire
He welcomed the government's policy and program for the next fiscal year, describing it as positive and forward-looking.

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Thakur Gaire has emphasized that corruption and commission-related issues are not limited to any one individual or political party, but rather constitute a widespread national problem.
Addressing the House of Representatives on Thursday during discussions on the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year, Gaire called for a collective commitment from both the ruling and opposition parties to eradicate corruption.
“Blaming one another will not solve the issue,” Gaire said. “Whether the individual involved belongs to any party or holds any position, they should not be spared. Corruption is a common disease afflicting our entire nation, and it demands a united response from all political forces.”
He welcomed the government’s policy and program for the next fiscal year, describing it as positive and forward-looking.
He particularly praised the government’s commitment to pass key bills on education, civil service reform, and police reform within the current parliamentary session.
“It is a commendable initiative that the policy document proposes to pass crucial bills such as the Education Bill, Civil Service Bill, and Police Bill during this session,” Gaire stated. “Instead of engaging in blame games over corruption and commissions, we must acknowledge that this is a shared issue that requires collective resolve.”
Gaire urged all parties to contribute to the effective implementation of the government’s proposed programs and stressed that no individual, regardless of rank or political affiliation, should be immune from accountability.
He also highlighted the importance of implementing youth-focused programs announced by the government, stating that effective execution of these initiatives could help curb the increasing trend of youth migration abroad.
“The success of youth-oriented programs could play a vital role in retaining young talent within the country,” he added.
