KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has stated that the current government is moving forward in line with the agreement reached between the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML.

Speaking at a program organized jointly by the National Human Rights Commission, Conflict-Affected Women National Network, and The Story Kitchen on the theme “Progress So Far and Future Direction in the Implementation of the Second National Action Plan,” Minister Lekhak said he has already completed 10 months in office and emphasized that this period is not very long.

“In the past, governments used to change every 10 months, so it felt like a full government term,” he remarked. “But this time, the government will not change in 10 months. We will go through three or four such 10-month periods.”

Lekhak assured that the current administration is stable and will not face frequent changes like in the past.

He also highlighted that the transitional justice process has progressed under the current government.

According to him, the government has finalized the necessary laws which were previously incomplete and had hindered progress.

He noted that in the past nine months, the legal framework related to transitional justice has been completed.
