One died, 3 injured in early morning crash on Koteshwor–Tinkune road
A 23-year-old woman, Nagina Tamang—originally from Nuwakot and residing in Dhobighat, Lalitpur—was critically injured in the accident.

KATHMANDU: A woman has died and three others have been injured in a serious road accident involving a passenger bus, a van, and a motorcycle early this morning near the Munibhairav Temple along the Koteshwor–Tinkune road section in Kathmandu.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:15 AM and led to a chain-reaction crash, according to preliminary reports from the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division.
The bus (Ba 3 Kha 7062), which was traveling from Koteshwor toward Baneshwor, struck a Maruti van (Ba. Pra. 01-026 Ch 2927) and a motorcycle (Ba. Pra. 02-053 Pa 3847), all of which were moving in the same direction.
A 23-year-old woman, Nagina Tamang—originally from Nuwakot and residing in Dhobighat, Lalitpur—was critically injured in the accident.
She was first rushed to Civil Hospital and later transferred to the National Trauma Center, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The crash also left three others injured: 27-year-old motorcycle rider Padam Thapa Magar, 35-year-old van driver Ratna Bahadur Sarki, and 24-year-old bus passenger Menuka Budhathoki.
All are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Kathmandu.
The bus was driven by 59-year-old Ram Kumar Khadka, who, along with the van and motorcycle drivers, has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
The bus is currently under the control of the Valley Traffic Police Division at Ramshah Path.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Giri, spokesperson for the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The Koteshwor–Tinkune stretch is known for its heavy traffic flow and has seen multiple accidents in the past due to congestion and poor traffic discipline.
