Weather: Light to moderate rain likely in hilly & himalayan regions

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the current weather in Nepal is being influenced by a combination of westerly and local wind systems.

Additionally, moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea is also having a partial impact on the country’s weather conditions.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected over the hilly regions of the country today.

The rest of the regions are likely to experience mostly clear weather.

During the afternoon, there is a forecast of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly and Himalayan areas.

Light snowfall is also expected in high-altitude Himalayan regions.

Tonight, partly cloudy conditions will persist in the hilly areas.

Isolated places in the hills may witness light to moderate rain along with thunder and lightning, while some high Himalayan areas could experience light rain and snowfall.

Meteorologists have advised people, especially those traveling to high-altitude areas and farmers, to take necessary precautions due to the changing weather patterns.
