KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Central Security Committee was held today at the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

According to the Ministry, the meeting focused on the recent developments following rising tensions between India and Pakistan and their potential impact on Nepal, along with matters related to internal security.

Security mechanisms will be kept on high alert, said Ministry spokesperson Ramchandra Tiwari.

He further informed that the meeting also discussed the evolving situation resulting from the India–Pakistan conflict, possible challenges to Nepal, and the safety of Nepali citizens residing in both countries.

“Discussions were held on enhancing internal security preparedness, coordination, and information sharing,” Tiwari said. “The meeting emphasized tightening security from border checkpoints to airports, ensuring national and internal security, and addressing potential challenges arising from current regional developments.”
