Pranav Jung Pandey highlights barriers to Nepal’s industrial growth

KATHMANDU: Young entrepreneur and Director of Lomas Pharmaceuticals, Pranav Jung Pandey, has shared his views on the obstacles hindering Nepal’s industrial development through a post on Facebook.
In his statement, Pandey identified international economic conditions, self-centered politics, and the lack of industry-friendly policies as major barriers to industrial progress. “How can the country rise in such conditions?” he questioned.
As someone directly involved in the industrial sector, Pandey pointed to political instability, policy ambiguity, and the absence of long-term economic strategies as key challenges to industrial growth.
He urged the government and policymakers to foster an industry-friendly environment with a long-term vision, warning that economic revival would otherwise be impossible.
In recent years, Nepal’s overreliance on imports, weak export capacity, rising unemployment, and neglect of the productive sector have placed the overall economy under pressure.
