KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Bindabasini Kansakar has urged the government to bring the long-pending private bill on burn injuries into parliamentary discussion without further delay.

Speaking during Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, Kansakar expressed dissatisfaction that the bill, registered last year in Bhadra (August/September), has not yet been tabled for deliberation.

She raised concerns over the government’s recent announcement in the upcoming fiscal year’s policy and program to expand burn treatment services across all seven provinces, while the legislation aimed at addressing burn-related issues remains untouched.

Kansakar called on the government to immediately bring the bill to the floor for discussion and ensure that burn victims do not face uncertainty in accessing treatment in the future.

The private bill focuses on the prevention, treatment, and legal provisions related to human burn injuries.
