MP Gautam criticizes govt’s failure in good governance
He expressed concern that, although the nation has a clear destination to reach, leaders have become trapped in self-indulgence, further deepening public despair.

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Sanjay Kumar Gautam has strongly criticized the government for failing to deliver good governance and address the growing public frustration.
Speaking during Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, MP Gautam said that Nepal’s political parties and leadership appear to have forgotten the country’s history, traditions, culture, and religion.
He expressed concern that, although the nation has a clear destination to reach, leaders have become trapped in self-indulgence, further deepening public despair.
Gautam emphasized the government’s failure to control corruption and underscored that this issue cannot be tackled solely by political parties or the government—it requires the collective effort of all forces to foster national unity.
“We must move away from a culture of prohibition and stop being lost in self-admiration. Only then can we address the real issues facing the people,” he stated.
He asserted that if there is a genuine effort to guide the country in the right direction, it is still possible to build the envisioned Nepal. “But if we remain indecisive and confused, we will not reach anywhere,” he warned.
Gautam also called on senior leaders in political parties and the government to rise above partisan interests and fulfill the role of true statesmen.
Highlighting international concerns, he noted the outbreak of war between India and Pakistan, warning that its impact on the region, including Nepal, could be significantly negative.
