KATHMANDU: The first edition of Gandaki Cup Women Football Tournament will be organized July 12-19 this year at Pokhara Stadium in Gandaki Province.

Tribhuvan Army Club (Nepali Army) and Armed Police Force (APF) Club are among the contenders in the tournament.
Federation’s General-Secretary Binod Gurung shared that event has endorsement from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Players and football enthusiasts in the Province alike are excited about the upcoming event as football related activities in Pokhara had been less frequent in the recent years.
General-Secretary Gurung expressed the event is expected to revitalize football culture in Pokhara thereby promoting this sport.
Preparation for the event is underway accordingly, informed Gurung.
He believed that the event will further contribute in honing skills of women footballers in Gandaki and enhancing their capacity thereby enabling them to compete with departmental teams later.
