KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Manish Jha has issued a strong warning in Parliament, stating that continued political vendettas against opposition leaders will not be tolerated in silence.

Addressing Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Jha accused the government of engaging in a pattern of targeted political revenge.

He cited actions taken against RSP President Rabi Lamichhane, former lawmaker Resham Chaudhary, and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal as evidence of a politically motivated crackdown.

“Our party’s attention has been drawn to recent developments that suggest a deliberate political vendetta. Actions against our president Rabi Lamichhane, the recent treatment of Resham Chaudhary, and the reported plan to take statements from Madhav Kumar Nepal indicate a concerning trend,” Jha said during his address.

He further cautioned that such developments could escalate tensions: “We are observing all this very seriously. If this trend continues, we may not be able to remain silent forever.”

Jha also questioned whether similar actions would be taken against other figures like Dr. CK Raut, implying that the crackdown may broaden.

In addition, he criticized the government for not declaring a public holiday on the occasion of Janaki Jayanti, expressing his disappointment and calling it a disregard for cultural and regional significance.
