KATHMANDU: In a rain-marred encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) shared points with Delhi Capitals (DC), marking their official exit from the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Hyderabad had set a target of 134 runs, but persistent rain during the second innings meant Delhi never got the opportunity to bat.

With the match abandoned without a result, both teams were awarded one point each.

This draw leaves Sunrisers Hyderabad with 7 points from 11 matches—comprising 3 wins, 7 losses, and 1 no-result—confirming their elimination from playoff contention regardless of the outcomes in their remaining three fixtures.

For Delhi Capitals, the point gained keeps their playoff hopes alive.

They now sit fifth on the points table with 13 points, intensifying the battle for a spot in the top four.

Before rain halted proceedings, SRH skipper Pat Cummins delivered a sensational bowling performance, taking 3 wickets in his opening 3 overs while conceding just 19 runs.

Jaydev Unadkat also impressed, finishing with figures of 1 for 13 from 4 overs.

Delhi’s batting collapsed early, losing five wickets for just 29 runs. Among the top five, only Lokesh Rahul reached double digits, scoring 10.

However, a crucial 56-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma steadied the innings. Both batters contributed 41 runs each, with Stubbs remaining unbeaten off 36 balls, including four boundaries.

Despite their recovery, the rain had the final say, and Sunrisers Hyderabad bowed out of the season with a whimper, while Delhi stays in the hunt for a playoff berth.
