Three dead in Dhankuta bus accident identified, 11 injured
The incident occurred in the afternoon.

KATHMANDU: Three people lost their lives and eleven others were injured in a passenger bus accident that occurred on Monday in Gothgaun, Dhankuta.
According to police reports, two of the injured are in critical condition.
The accident took place when a bus (registration number Ko 1 Kha 2177), en route from Dharan to Bhojpur, veered off the road and plunged approximately 50 meters down a slope along the Koshi Highway in Dhankuta Municipality-6.
The incident occurred in the afternoon.
One person died at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
The deceased have been identified as Rudra Tamang, 51, the driver from Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13; Lilabahadur Shrestha, 58, from Bhojpur Municipality-11; and Krishnakumari Rai Bhujel, 73, from Dhankuta Municipality-6. Police confirmed that Rai died on the spot, while Tamang and Shrestha died while undergoing treatment.
Rescue operations were carried out with the help of local residents and police, and the injured were transported to Dharan for medical care.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to the District Traffic Police Office.
