Prachanda slams govt’s policy program as “detached from public expectations”
Dahal expressed concern that the announced policies fall short of meeting public expectations and instead continue to uphold outdated traditions.

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the main opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has strongly criticized the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year, calling it a mere formality that fails to address the nation’s pressing challenges and growing public dissatisfaction.
Speaking during a session of the House of Representatives on Monday, Dahal expressed concern that the announced policies fall short of meeting public expectations and instead continue to uphold outdated traditions.
“The policy and program presented by the government lacks the vision and seriousness needed to address the complex economic crises and widespread public frustration,” Dahal said. He added that the document ignores crucial national issues and accused the ruling party of acting with arrogance born from its two-thirds majority.
“The government is galloping on the horse of misgovernance and is now increasingly isolated from within,” he remarked, warning that the current direction risks deepening the nation’s crisis.
Dahal further stated that the government’s policy and program should reflect not just its own priorities but also guide the direction of the entire nation—something he said the current plan fails to do.
