Darwang-Bim-Dichyam road upgradation begins

MYAGDI: The upgradation of Darwang-Bim-Dichyam road has begun in Malika Rural Municipality of Myagdi after 14 years of its track opening.

Myagdi Infrastructure Development Office has started the project to upgrade the Khara-Bim-Dadangaun section under the Darwang-Bim-Dichyam road on the budget of Gandaki province government.

According to the Infrastructure Development Office, Sarvashakti Mahamaya Pvt Ltd, which had signed the contract of Rs 111.99 million in June last year, has started the initial phase of work for upgrading the road.

Nearly 15 percent progress has been made in the project with a contract period of two years.

In 2068 BS, around seven kilometers of road was constructed connecting Khara to Bim with the collection of donations from the then district development committee, Bim VDC and locals.

According to office chief Bishnu Poudel, the road will be widened to seven metres with the construction of drains, walls and slopes.
