KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is being held this morning at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.
The session will feature an extensive discussion on the government’s annual policy and programme for the current fiscal year.
On Baisakh 19, President Ramchandra Paudel presented the government’s annual policy and programme during a joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament.
During today’s session, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to table a motion to commence deliberations on the policy and programme.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, once the Prime Minister’s motion is presented, various amendment proposals submitted by lawmakers will be introduced.
Following this, members of parliament will begin in-depth discussions, expressing their views and positions on the government’s outlined agenda.
The government’s policy and programme serves as a blueprint for national priorities in economic development, social transformation, physical infrastructure, and good governance. It sets the direction for governmental action in the upcoming fiscal year.
