KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 3.44 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, closing at 2,620.39 points—a decline of 0.13%.

A total of 117 companies saw their share prices increase, while 128 experienced a decline.

Throughout the day, 81,985 transactions were recorded, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 9.24 billion.

Altogether, 21.9 million shares were traded.

Among sectoral indices, all groups except for banking, development banks, hotels & tourism, manufacturing & processing, and non-life insurance closed in the red.

The trading, life insurance, and finance sectors led the decline.

Meanwhile, Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Crest Micro Life Insurance, and Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals hit the upper circuit limit with a 10% gain in their share prices.

Conversely, the share price of Win Nepal Laghubitta Financial Institution hit the lower circuit, plunging 10%.
