National Assembly debates constitutional council amendment bill
Members of the National Assembly expressed their views on the proposal to consider the bill, which outlines amendments to the operations of the Constitutional Council.

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly has held a discussion on the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers, and Procedures) First Amendment Bill, 2079, which was received with a message from the House of Representatives.
Members of the National Assembly expressed their views on the proposal to consider the bill, which outlines amendments to the operations of the Constitutional Council.
Earlier, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, had tabled the bill in the National Assembly.
Speaking about the bill, Minister Gurung stated that the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives had unanimously passed it after thorough deliberation between ruling and opposition parties.
He emphasized the need for comprehensive discussion in the National Assembly before finalizing the bill.
The next meeting of the National Assembly has been scheduled for 1:15 PM on Monday, Baisakh 22.
