Ncell honoured as Nepal’s top ICT taxpayer
Held in Kathmandu on Friday, the event brought together key stakeholders from government and industry.

KATHMANDU: Ncell has been recognised by the Government of Nepal as the highest income taxpayer in the country’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector.
The honour was presented during a special ceremony marking the 8th National ICT Day, celebrated annually to promote innovation and growth in Nepal’s digital landscape.
Held in Kathmandu on Friday, the event brought together key stakeholders from government and industry.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli presented a certificate of recognition to Punam Singh, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability at Ncell, acknowledging the company’s exceptional contribution to the national economy through tax payments in the fiscal year 2023/24.
Ncell emerged as the top taxpayer in the ICT sector, reaffirming its status as a leading corporate contributor to Nepal’s revenue system.
The company has consistently earned recognition for its financial transparency and commitment to national development.

Over the years, Ncell has earned multiple accolades for its fiscal responsibility.
Most recently, in December 2024, the Lalitpur Metropolitan City awarded Ncell the title of the highest institutional taxpayer for the same fiscal year.
Since its inception, Ncell has contributed more than Rs 340 billion in taxes and fees to the Government of Nepal.
In fiscal year 2023/24 alone, it paid Rs 20.30 billion, underlining its role as a vital pillar in the nation’s economic structure.
Beyond taxation, Ncell has made significant investments in social development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, the Ncell Foundation.
The company has invested over Rs 2 billion in projects benefiting more than 13 million people across all seven provinces of Nepal, advancing health, education, disaster response, and digital literacy.
