Pakistan bans IPL broadcast
This included players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and Wasim Akram.

KATHMANDU: Pakistan has officially banned the broadcast of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in response to escalating tensions with India following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
The decision comes after India had earlier imposed a ban on the live broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and also restricted access to the social media accounts of prominent Pakistani cricketers within India.
This included players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and Wasim Akram.
The tit-for-tat move by Pakistan is being seen as a direct response to India’s restrictions on PSL and its players’ digital presence.
On April 22, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 people, including one Nepali citizen, further straining bilateral relations between the two countries.
