Vehicle disappears into Sinkhole yet to be found

KATHMANDU: A Bolero van (registration number Na 4 Cha 4833) suddenly sank into a road sinkhole in Gairigaun, Hetauda on Friday and remains missing as of Saturday.

The vehicle reportedly vanished within five seconds after the road collapsed.

Fortunately, both the driver and co-driver managed to escape moments before the vehicle sank.

Eyewitnesses say a water-filled pit has now formed at the site.

Despite search efforts, the vehicle has not been located. Police are working to drain the water to aid in the search.

Authorities suspect that underground boring activity near a nearby fish pond may have caused the land subsidence.
