Construction of Thulokhola hydro project of 21.3 megawatt capacity in final stage

MYAGDI: The development of Thulokhola hydropower project of 21.3 megawatt capacity in Myagdi district has reached the final stage with the completion of entire physical infrastructure and equipment installation.
Plant Manager of the project, Binod Paudel, said that a test of the installed machines in the powerhouse has been initiated.
The project is located at Kuyinemangale of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8 in Myagdi and is developed by Joint Energy Limited.
According to Paudel, entire works of dam, tunnel, powerhouse and switchyard were completed and the tests of the turbines were done.
The energy generated from the project would be supplied to the central transmission line and a grid of 8 kilometres is being constructed for the same.
The project officials shared that the test transmission of the power from the project would be done on May 15.
The Non-Resident Nepalis and other promoters have invested for the project while 70 percent of the project’s financing is done by different banks and financial institutions under the leadership of Nepal Bank Limited.
The total cost of the project is estimated around 3.6 billion rupees.
