Widespread afternoon rain with thunderstorms & lightning across Nepal
Since early morning, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has been reported in several areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.

KATHMANDU: Various parts of Nepal, including the Kathmandu Valley, experienced light rainfall today due to the combined influence of westerly winds and local weather patterns.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal are also contributing to the current weather activity across the country.
Since early morning, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has been reported in several areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
Isolated showers have also been observed in parts of Koshi, Madhes, and Lumbini Provinces.
Meteorologists forecast cloudy conditions throughout the day, with a high probability of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, especially in hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces. Light rain is also expected in other parts of the country.
The Division has issued a special alert for the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious due to the increased risk of flash floods, landslides, and potential disruptions to transportation.
Additionally, light rain or snowfall may occur in a few locations across the Himalayan region.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has advised the public and concerned agencies to remain alert and take necessary precautions to mitigate possible weather-related hazards.
