KATHMANDU: Manchester City moved up to third in the English Premier League table after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Kevin De Bruyne scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute, latching onto a pass from Jérémy Doku to seal the win for City.

The Belgian midfielder’s strike not only proved decisive but also came during one of his final home appearances for the club, making the moment even more significant.

Wolves, who came into the match on a six-game unbeaten run, posed a threat with Ryan Aït-Nouri and Matheus Cunha both hitting the post.

Despite a promising start, Wolves’ attacking momentum faded in the second half as they failed to find an equalizer.

With the victory, City now sit on 64 points, two ahead of Newcastle United and four clear of both Chelsea and Nottingham Forest in the race for European spots.
