SC officer remanded for 4 days over forgery allegation
Bista is being investigated on charges related to document forgery.

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted police permission to hold Mahiman Singh Bista, a section officer at the Supreme Court, in custody for four days for further investigation.
Bista was arrested after allegedly issuing an unauthorized letter regarding the arrest of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) patron Resham Chaudhary.
According to Kathmandu District Police spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Apilraj Bohara, Bista is being investigated on charges related to document forgery.
“He was arrested after issuing an unauthorized letter,” said SP Bohara. “Today, the court granted four days of judicial custody for continued investigation.”
Police are investigating Bista under Sections 276 (3)(a) and (b) of the Criminal Code Act, 2017 (Muluki Aparadh Samhita, 2074), which relate to forgery and fraudulent documentation.
