Government to strengthen national security & defense system
President Ramchandra Paudel stated that necessary infrastructure will be developed to establish a National Defense University, which is set to come into operation from the upcoming fiscal year.

KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to further enhance the implementation of national security and defense policies, aiming to strengthen the country’s overall security system.
Presenting the government’s policy and program for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS at the joint session of the Federal Parliament today, President Ramchandra Paudel stated that necessary infrastructure will be developed to establish a National Defense University, which is set to come into operation from the upcoming fiscal year.
The policy also highlights continued efforts to enhance the capacity and organizational strength of the Nepal Army.
Programs such as the expansion of bunkers and barracks will continue, with a commitment to gradually provide housing facilities to army personnel across all ranks.
The government plans to expand the National Cadet Corps (NCC) program to schools in remote and marginalized areas.
This initiative aims to foster a generation of disciplined, loyal, and patriotic youth dedicated to national service.
Additionally, the policy outlines measures to preserve and promote historically significant forts and garrisons, integrating them into local tourism development strategies.
