Nepal Law Campus 2037-40 batch holds grand reunion, elects new committee
Held at the Manokranti Yoga and Meditation Center in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur, the event paid tribute to their revered teachers and welcomed esteemed guests.

KATHMANDU: The first batch of Nepal Law Campus students from 2037–2040 B.S. reunited in an event that also witnessed the reformation of their executive committee.
Held at the Manokranti Yoga and Meditation Center in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur, the event paid tribute to their revered teachers and welcomed esteemed guests.
During the occasion, a new executive committee was unanimously elected.
Krishna Prasad Basyal was chosen as the President, while Jhabindra Aryal and Keshari Raj Ghimire were elected as members. Provisions were made to induct two additional members into the committee at a later stage.
The program honored several distinguished personalities as chief and special guests.
The Chief Guest was former Supreme Court Justice and current President of the Judges’ Society, Mr. Top Bahadur Singh. Other special guests included Prof. Dr. Bharat Bahadur Karki, Prof. Dr. Laxman Kumar Upadhyay, Prof. Dr. Ammar Prasad Pant, Sushila Regmi, Sushil Kumar Pant, and Bhairaja Pandey.
In his address, Chief Guest Singh recalled the socio-political climate of 2035–2036 B.S. and emphasized that his intent was never political but was focused on promoting quality legal education and good governance.
He expressed disappointment that his efforts were misunderstood by some at the time.
Current Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Madhav Prasad Regmi, also shared his thoughts, stating that his education in law enabled him to serve in various government roles successfully.
He highlighted that after retiring as a Special Class Secretary, he was honored to return as Chairperson of the Commission after five years—an achievement he attributes to the foundation laid by legal education.
The event also featured reminiscences by former Minister Agni Prasad Kharel, founding Dean of Kathmandu University School of Law Bipin Adhikari, and former member of the National Human Rights Commission Sudeep Pathak.
They shared memories from their student days and spoke on how legal education transformed their personal and professional lives.
The reunion was coordinated and organized by Jhabindra Aryal, a 2037 batch alumnus and former ambassador.
Participants unanimously agreed that such reunions not only revive cherished memories but also serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.
