Investigation underway into Prisa’s death: Odisha government
The deceased has been identified as Prisa Sah, a native of Birgunj, Nepal.

KATHMANDU: A Nepali student studying at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India, was found dead in her university hostel on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Prisa Sah, a native of Birgunj, Nepal.
She was a first-year undergraduate student at KIIT and had been staying at the university hostel to attend her ongoing examinations.
According to an official statement issued by the Odisha Department of Information and Public Relations, local police were informed about the incident at approximately 8:10 PM.
Senior officials, including the Police Commissioner and Revenue Divisional Commissioner, immediately arrived at the scene to begin preliminary investigations and questioning.
The cause of Sah’s death is currently under investigation.
This is not the first such incident at the university. Just a few months earlier, on Feb 16 (Falgun 4), another Nepali student, Prakriti Lamsal, was also found dead under suspicious circumstances in the same hostel.
The back-to-back deaths of two Nepali students within a short span of time have sent shockwaves through the Nepali student community in Odisha.
