KATHMANDU: Mumbai Indians continued their imperious form in the IPL 2025 season with a dominant 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

With this emphatic win, their sixth in a row, Mumbai climbed to the top of the points table with 14 points from 11 matches.

This victory also marked Mumbai’s first win in Jaipur since 2012, breaking a long-standing drought at the venue.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Mumbai posted a mammoth 217/2 in their 20 overs.

Opener Ryan Rickelton was named Player of the Match for his explosive 61 off just 38 deliveries, laced with six fours and three sixes.

He shared a 116-run opening stand with captain Rohit Sharma, who contributed a fluent 53 off 36 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes.

In the middle order, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya played aggressive cameos, scoring 48 runs each off just 23 balls, propelling Mumbai to a formidable total.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals faltered under pressure and were bowled out for just 117 in 16.1 overs.

Jofra Archer was the top scorer for the Royals with 30 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup crumbled against Mumbai’s relentless bowling attack.

Karan Sharma led the bowling charge with figures of 3/23 in four overs.

Trent Boult also picked up 3 wickets, conceding 28 runs in 2.1 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah was miserly as ever, taking 2/15 in his full quota of four overs.

With just 6 points from 11 matches (3 wins, 8 losses), Rajasthan Royals are now officially out of the playoff race.

Mumbai, on the other hand, are riding high on momentum and look well-positioned for a strong finish to the league stage.
