Deuba urges Nepali diaspora to contribute to nation-building with skills gained abroad
Deuba praised the role of Nepalis living abroad and emphasized the importance of their continued engagement in national development.

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called on Nepali citizens living abroad to utilize the knowledge and skills they have acquired overseas to contribute to the development of their homeland.
Speaking at a program organized by the Nepali Congress Public Relations Department in Kathmandu on Thursday, Deuba praised the role of Nepalis living abroad and emphasized the importance of their continued engagement in national development.
“Even while living far from home, you have continued to show concern for Nepal and its people,” Deuba said. “Your experience and expertise are assets to the nation, and we must create an environment where Nepalis are respected, no matter where they are in the world.”
He also assured the diaspora community that the party is committed to addressing legal issues affecting Nepalis abroad, and that necessary laws would be formulated or amended accordingly.
Highlighting the party’s inclusive approach, Deuba noted that Nepalis living in countries like the United States and India have been given representation in the party’s central committee. He pledged to ensure representation from other regions, including Europe, which have so far been underrepresented.
Calling for unity among all Nepalis in safeguarding the federal democratic republic, Deuba urged educated Nepali citizens abroad to play a proactive role in upholding democratic values and contributing meaningfully to the country’s progress.
