Mass rally held in Kathmandu to mark Int’l Workers’ Day (photos)

KATHMANDU: A massive rally was organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of International Workers’ Day (May Day) by the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), a trade union affiliated with the CPN-UML.
The rally, which began Thursday morning, passed through key areas including Bhadrakali and Ratnapark before culminating in a mass gathering at the garden area of Bhrikutimandap.
According to GEFONT, the main highlight of the event will be a special address by former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, scheduled for 1:30 PM this afternoon.
Thousands of workers and supporters participated in the rally, raising slogans in favor of labor rights, social justice, and improved working conditions.
