KATHMANDU: Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar has claimed that India is planning a potential military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours, warning that any such move will be met with a decisive response.

In a video statement released Wednesday, Tarar stated that credible intelligence sources had indicated that India may be preparing a military operation in retaliation for a recent attack in the Indian-administered region of Pahalgam in Kashmir.

Tarar accused India of using “baseless allegations” linking Pakistan to the deadly incident in Pahalgam earlier this month, where at least 25 people were reportedly killed in an attack targeting tourists. India has blamed Pakistan-based elements for the assault—an allegation that Islamabad has strongly denied.

“Pakistan will not remain silent if India carries out any aggression. We are fully prepared to respond with full force,” Tarar warned.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors have escalated in the wake of the Pahalgam incident, with both sides exchanging heated rhetoric.

Indian media reports have suggested that the government in New Delhi is considering military options, though no official confirmation has been made.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation, urging restraint on both sides to avoid further destabilization in the region.
