Man held for vandalizing hotel in Sangurigadhi-6, Simsuwa

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the vandalism of a hotel in Simsuwa, located in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta district.

The suspect, identified as Abhishek Shrestha, a local resident, allegedly damaged the windows and door of a hotel operated by Sujan Rai of Namaste Jharana on Tuesday, according to police reports.

A police team from the Bhedetar Area Police Office apprehended Shrestha shortly after the incident, confirmed District Police spokesperson DSP Om Prakash Khanal.

Authorities have launched an investigation against him on charges of criminal vandalism.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Shrestha had consumed alcoholic beverages and other items on credit at the hotel on multiple occasions.

He reportedly vandalized the property out of anger after the hotel operator demanded payment, police said.
