Over 420 kg of cannabis seized from Car in Dhankuta, driver on run

KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) personnel seized a large quantity of cannabis from a vehicle on Wednesday morning near Namaste Jharna in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhankuta.
The vehicle, bearing the license plate Ko 2 Pa 1734, was en route to Dharan when security forces attempted to stop it for inspection.
According to the APF, the driver failed to comply with the stop order and fled the scene.
A team from the APF’s Dhankuta Border Outpost pursued the vehicle and later discovered it crashed along the route.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities found 421 kilograms of cannabis packed in 12 separate bundles.
The driver, however, remains at large, and a manhunt is currently underway.
The seized drugs and the vehicle have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation and legal action, said the APF.
