Rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall forecast across Nepal
According to the department, light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is already occurring in some parts of Koshi Province.

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of western disturbances, local winds, and moisture-laden air entering from the Bay of Bengal.
As a result, most hilly regions, particularly in Koshi Province, are witnessing partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is seeing mostly clear skies.
According to the department, light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is already occurring in some parts of Koshi Province.
The weather forecast for the afternoon indicates that hilly areas across the country will remain partly to generally cloudy.
There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in a few places in the hilly regions and at isolated spots elsewhere.
The forecast also suggests that light snowfall is possible in some parts of the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Additionally, strong winds are expected in the Terai region of Lumbini Province, prompting the department to advise caution.
Significant weather changes are expected to continue into the night. Hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces may experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, while light snowfall could occur in some Himalayan locations.
The Meteorological Department has urged the public to remain alert, as these weather conditions could impact daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel.
