Chief Whip Chaudhary warns govt. over teachers’ demands
Chaudhary criticized the government for what he described as repressive actions against protesting educators instead of addressing their concerns through legislation.

KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Metmani Chaudhary, has issued a stern warning to the government, stating that if it fails to address the legitimate demands of teachers, a time may come when those in power will be forced to flee from Singha Durbar and Baluwatar.
Speaking during Tuesday’s session of the House of Representatives, Chaudhary criticized the government for what he described as repressive actions against protesting educators instead of addressing their concerns through legislation.
“I sincerely urge the government to finalize the Education Bill in accordance with the demands of the teachers,” Chaudhary said. “Otherwise, the ruling authorities may have to flee. You must have heard or read about such events before. Mere majority or even a two-thirds majority doesn’t help in front of the people’s will — just look at Bangladesh.”
He accused the government of treating teachers with a “brutal and repressive attitude” and strongly condemned such actions on behalf of his party’s parliamentary group.
