RSP’s Jha slams govt over Mishra’s mistreatment, cites PM’s revenge remark
Jha expressed his disagreement with Mishra’s views but strongly condemned the alleged state misconduct against him.

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Manish Jha has drawn the government’s attention to what he described as police mistreatment of Rabindra Mishra, senior vice president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Speaking during Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Jha expressed his disagreement with Mishra’s views but strongly condemned the alleged state misconduct against him.
“I may not agree with Rabindra Mishra’s views or behavior,” Jha said, “but I strongly oppose the manner in which the state has treated him. The government must correct this behavior, and I wish to formally draw its attention to the matter.”
He also accused the government of harboring political vengeance, citing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s own admission. According to Jha, the Prime Minister recently acknowledged using state power against emerging political parties.
“On the 14th [of April], the Prime Minister publicly stated that he had to ‘deal with a few people from new parties,’ and even admitted, ‘I slapped them and sent them to custody,’” Jha revealed. “I thank the Prime Minister for his honesty—it proves that the actions were indeed politically motivated. I urge everyone not to debate this matter any further.”
Further criticizing the government, Jha questioned why a government that claims to champion good governance has failed to submit its property details even after ten months in power.
