KATHMANDU: In a 47th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Rajasthan Royals cruised to a dominant eight-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday night.

Chasing a formidable target of 210, Rajasthan Royals made it look effortless, reaching 211/2 in just 15.5 overs, thanks to a breathtaking innings by 14-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryawanshi, who etched his name into the history books with a sensational century.

Suryawanshi smashed 101 runs off just 35 balls, becoming the youngest player ever to score a century in IPL history.

His half-century came in just 17 balls, marking the fastest fifty of the season, and he also registered the second-fastest century in IPL history before being bowled by Prasidh Krishna.

Opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal provided solid support with an explosive 70-run knock, while Nitish Rana chipped in with an unbeaten 35 to guide the team home.

Gujarat’s only breakthroughs came via Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan, who picked up one wicket each.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans posted a challenging total of 209/4 in their 20 overs, powered by a commanding 84-run innings from Shubman Gill and a quickfire 50 from Jos Buttler.

Rajasthan’s bowling was led by Maheesh Theekshana, who took 2 wickets, while Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer claimed one apiece.

Despite the emphatic win, Rajasthan Royals remain in eighth place on the points table, while Gujarat Titans hold firm in third position.
