KATHMANDU: Keshar Bahadur Bista, Chair of Rastriya Shakti Nepal, has alleged that Nepal is currently under the rule of criminal gangs rather than a legitimate government.

His remarks came during a protest rally held in Kathmandu on Monday, demanding the reinstatement of the monarchy and Nepal as a Hindu nation.

Addressing the demonstrators, Bista claimed that the monarchy and Hindu statehood were abolished deceptively, blaming former parliamentarians — originally appointed by the King — for misleading the monarch and pushing federalism upon the nation overnight.

Bista criticized the government for ignoring ongoing movements and public dissatisfaction across the country.

He stated that governance in Nepal is currently being dictated by political parties rather than serving the interests of the people, warning that the nation is heading toward a state of anarchy, which could result in more loss of life.

Quoting historical leaders such as Manmohan Adhikari and Madan Bhandari, Bista emphasized that even key figures from the UML party had acknowledged the relevance of the monarchy in Nepal’s context.

He stressed that the reinstatement of the monarchy is essential for national unity and stability.
