NEPSE index gains slightly; turnover crosses Rs 10.87 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight rise of 3.58 points (or 0.13%) on Sunday, closing at 2,661.60 points.
This marks a continued upward trend, following a modest 2-point gain in the previous trading session on Thursday.
A total of 104 companies witnessed an increase in their stock prices, while 141 companies saw a decline.
On the day, the market recorded 89,161 transactions, with the buying and selling of 28,438,428 shares, leading to a total turnover of approximately Rs. 10.87 billion.
This figure reflects a notable rise in trading volume compared to the Rs. 7.87 billion turnover registered on Thursday.
Out of the 13 sub-indices, Hotels and Tourism, Hydropower, Investment, Manufacturing & Processing, Mutual Fund, and Trading sectors experienced growth.
However, the indices of the remaining subgroups declined, according to NEPSE.
