Nagarik Unmukti Party & Janamat Party to merge on April 30

KATHMANDU: Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, announced that her party will officially unite with the Janamat Party on Baisakh 17 (April 30).

A central committee meeting of the Nagarik Unmukti Party is scheduled for Baisakh 15 (April 27) to finalize the decision.
Following the merger, the newly unified party will be named Nagarik Janamat Party. The leadership structure of the new party has also been outlined: Resham Chaudhary will serve as the party’s Patron, Dr. CK Raut will be the Chairperson, and Ranjita Shrestha will take the role of Co-Chairperson.
“The formal declaration of the unification will take place on Baisakh 17 (April 30),” said Shrestha. “We have called a central committee meeting on Baisakh 15 (April 27) to finalize the announcement.”
The unification marks a significant political development, bringing together two influential Madhes-based parties with a shared vision of social justice and inclusive governance.
