PM Oli challenges accusations of corruption, emphasizes political stability & unity

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chair of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has strongly rebutted allegations implying middlemen have access to his private quarters, challenging critics to provide evidence for their claims.
Inaugurating the Fourth National Conference of the Madan Bhandari Foundation today, PM Oli stated that such baseless accusations are being spread by deceptive political actors with no sense of shame. “Those who thrive on conspiracies and trickery are making shameful allegations to tarnish our leadership,” he said.
He stressed that the formation of the current government with the participation of UML and Nepali Congress was a necessity of the time, aimed at ensuring political stability, development, and good governance. “Just when the country is moving forward with stability and progress, efforts are being made to discredit the government with lies,” he noted.
“Are we ruining the country? Are we committing any crime?” Oli asked rhetorically. “There’s a lot of noise these days from ‘blue-colored jackals’—but their true nature won’t last long,” he added, using a metaphor to describe his opponents. He reiterated that the UML is on a mission to transform itself into a decisive national force through the upcoming elections, committed to the politics of truth, integrity, and vision.
Addressing internal party dynamics, the Prime Minister cautioned against excessive internal criticism and emphasized the need for unity. “We don’t need to focus too much on critical consciousness within the party,” he said. “What we need is unity. If we can’t fight our opponents and instead turn critical inside, that’s not the right path.”
Taking a jab at rumors that the government would collapse upon Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s return from Thailand, Oli said such speculations had been effectively quashed. “Those who spread that illusion must now feel like cold water has been poured over their heads,” he remarked.
PM Oli’s remarks underline his firm stance against what he terms as manufactured narratives aimed at weakening both the government and his party’s integrity.
