KATHMANDU: In today’s National Assembly meeting, Member of Parliament Anand Prasad Dhungana called for the removal of remarks made by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairperson Rajendra Lingden from the official parliamentary record.

Lingden had earlier alleged that the son of a ruling party’s deputy general secretary was involved in the robbery at Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Koteshwor on March 28 (Chaitra 15).

During the zero hour of the session, MP Dhungana stated that Lingden’s accusation was not only baseless but also an attack on the Nepali Congress party, despite the reference being to an individual from the ruling coalition.

He demanded either proof of the claim or a public apology from Lingden.

Dhungana urged the Speaker to take necessary steps to remove the false statement from the official record, emphasizing the need to uphold the dignity and decorum of the parliament.

In response, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal acknowledged Dhungana’s concerns and assured that the matter had been noted for further consideration.
