Daughter-in-law killed by brother-in-law in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: A gruesome murder took place in the border area of Sarlahi district on Sunday morning, where a brother-in-law (husband’s elder brother) allegedly killed his daughter-in-law with a sharp weapon following a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred in Bishnu Rural Municipality-3, Madhuwangoth.
According to police, 40-year-old Saheb Paswan attacked 36-year-old Renudevi Paswan with a pharsa (a traditional Nepali cleaver) after a dispute broke out between them over food.
Superintendent of Police Rabindra Bahadur Singh stated that during the preliminary investigation, it was found that Saheb had asked Renudevi for food.
When an argument ensued, he suddenly struck her with the weapon, leading to her death on the spot.
The accused has been taken into custody by the local police and is being held at the District Police Office for further investigation.
Renudevi’s body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangawa for a post-mortem examination.
Her husband, Gajendra Paswan, is currently in India working as a laborer.
