Fire destroys cattle shed & goat pen in Gulmi, livestock perish

KATHMANDU: A fire broke out in a cattle shed in Malika Rural Municipality-8, Marbung Kilibang of Gulmi district, causing significant damage to property and livestock.
The fire erupted while heating water for livestock in a traditional shed belonging to Tul Bahadur Gharti.
The blaze, which quickly spread due to the thatched roof and nearby structures, also engulfed an adjoining wooden goat pen.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ganga Bahadur Saru, the incident resulted in the death of two buffaloes and ten goats.
Additionally, four other goats suffered severe burn injuries.
The shed was constructed using mud and stone with a thatched roof, while the adjacent goat pen was made of wood.
Both structures were completely destroyed in the fire.
Authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage.
